I am a Top Shelf gal.
This doesn’t mean I’m extravagant.
I grew up in a home where homemade granola and coupon clipping was the norm. Boxed cereal was a luxury and back-to-school shopping meant a trip to the local consignment store where – like ‘em or not – I wore what fit, both me and the family budget.
My mom told me I had a nose for the highest priced item, followed by instructions to put it back. My keen eye for boxed cereal and designer fashion has been long-standing.
I’m 48 now (I just had a birthday), and I am a full-time nomad who calls a 27’ Airstream home – so, really, how extravagant can I be?
Worth noting though, is that Airstreams are the crème de la crème of RVs. Top shelf. And I don’t just have the base model.
In my world, good design is top shelf.
Simplicity is top shelf.
Time freedom is top shelf.
Self-expression is top shelf.
High service is top shelf.
Quality over quantity is top shelf.
Each of these are values I live from.
I both expect, and choose, the best.
When I hired a business coach and saw that she had 3 program options, I knew I wanted the “top package” before I even saw what was included.
I like Herradura Gold tequila in my margaritas … top shelf.
When I eat out, be it a hole in the wall or someplace fancy-shmancy, it’s all about the service. Service makes or breaks the experience, in my opinion. Regardless of the price point, THIS, to me, is top shelf.
I innately want the best. That’s just how I roll.
As I travel, I like to visit hotel lobbies and make them my office for the afternoon. To be clear, I don’t choose a nice Hilton … I go to The Ritz, walk in like a boss, thank the concierge for opening those big gorgeous doors for me, get myself a drink, open my laptop, and sit down like I belong there – because, pffft … I do.
It’s a vibe.
A vibe I value.
And when it’s my turn to serve, I wouldn’t dream of delivering any less to others!! I want to provide the best, most customized, service I can.
This is not entirely selfless. This kind of Service absolutely includes me. Meaning, giving in this way, 100% fills my glass too.
